Pansies are a quintessential fall plant, but what else is out there? For bold blooms, we love Snapdragons and Mums, both of which come in a wide range of colors. We love to look for unique textures and colors, and the vegetable bed may hold the unexpected key to jazzing up your fall planting! Edible or ornamental veggies like Kales, Cabbage, Beets, and Mustards are low-maintenance, keep their color through the cold, and are tough as nails. Keeping with that theme, herbs are another deer-resistant addition to incorporate into your autumnal containers; cilantro, parsley, rosemary, thyme, sage, and even some mint bring fragrance and function. Using perennials with unique foliage, like Euphorbia or Lamb’s ear, is a great way to maximize your seasonal planting. Plants like Helleborus, Evergreen Ferns, Coralbells, Ajuga, and Creeping Jenny can take some shade, and add loads of unexpected color! Looking for some pizzaz with more textures? Try a mini evergreen as a centerpiece, or an ornamental grass. Take advantage of our mild climate with late bloomers like Black-Eyed Susans, Marigolds, Asters, and Dianthus! Oh, and don’t forget Autumn Hill offers our Container Garden Concierge Service, drop off your containers, pick up a drop-n-go, or coordinate for us to come to you! We’ve got your fall container gardens covered!
